We are currently seeking charismatic in home sales professionals to join our team as a Quick Home Energy Check-up Auditor. Work is consistent throughout all four seasons of the year with no annual layoffs or partial work weeks.

Daily Responsibilities

As a QHEC Auditor, successful candidates will be responsible for meeting with Maryland Potomac Edison electric customers to educate them about utility sponsored home energy improvement rebate programs, to promote and sell whole home energy improvement services, and to install simple “direct install” energy saving products like LED light bulbs and high efficiency water saving devices. Specifically, daily responsibilities include:

  1. Complete up to nine (9) Quick Home Energy Checks per day
  2. Work 8 to 10 hours per day starting at 7:00am five days per week including occasional Saturdays
  3. Operate a company vehicle daily to reach appointments within 45 minutes of Frederick. Total daily driving of up to 150 miles.
  4. Establish a rapport with customers through in-person interaction
  5. Identify customer’s home energy needs and priorities
  6. Understand and provide education on Potomac Edison home energy improvement rebate programs
  7. Promote whole home energy improvement services
  8. Sell Home Energy Audits and meet monthly sales goals
  9. Complete required appointment documentation on iPad
  10. Use customer database software to record QHEC appointment sale information
  11. Provide top quality customer service to all homeowners
  12. Install CFL/LED Light Bulbs, High Efficiency Faucet Aerators/Shower Heads, and Hot Water Pipe Insulation

Job Qualifications

  1. Certifications/Experience
    1. BPI Building Analyst Certification is required for this position
    2. 1 Year of In Home Sales Experience
    3. Driver’s License with a clean driving record
    4. Candidates must pass a criminal background check – No felonies or violent misdemeanors allowed 
  2. Technical Skills Required     
    1. Ability to Install High Efficiency Faucet Aerators and Showerheads
    2. Ability to use an iPad for documentation    
  3. Non-Technical Skills/Traits Required          
    1. Speak English
    2. Charismatic individual who can develop a rapport with people from different backgrounds and cultures
    3. Effective Communication of Technical/Scientific Concepts
    4. Self motivated person who thrives in independent work environments
    5. Passionate about sales, energy efficiency, or helping customers improve their homes and lives
